Description
A-185 is the 11th entity that you will encounter through in ROOMS: Low Detailed. It is vastly different than the other entities previously mentioned.
Behavior
A-185 has two mechanics, one for a server with 2 players or less, and one for a server with 3 players or more.
A-185 is the 10th entity that you may find in the game. Just like how every other entity works, A-185 will only spawn at rooms A-185 or above. This entity, however, is different from the previous entities, as this entity works like A-120, but instead of spawning in the middle of the room, it will spawn 50 rooms away from the main room, and quickly make his way into the main door. This entity was impossible to hear if there are other entities on the main room like Happyman, or another extremely loud entity.
After A-185 gets to the main door, it would check every blue locker in the existing room, and if it finds someone hiding inside one of them, A-185 will instantly kill them. After checking every blue locker on the room, It will remain idle for about at least 1 second, and then it will proceed to go back to the lobby and rebound once it hits a wall in the lobby.
Unlike the other entities, this entity is EXTREMELY fast. It's at least faster than the previous entity A-150, and the next entity A-200. However, just like the other entities, its weakness is the sound it makes, BUT unlike the other entities below A-185 except A-75, you can't rely on A-185 screenshake because after you see it, it'll be too late to hide.
The reason for this is that A-185 doesn't emit it screenshake far away, unlike the other entities who emit their screenshake 10-20 rooms away. It will instead emit its screen shake when it is very close to the player, being very hard to rely on it to survive (6 - 8 rooms away). So, you will have to rely on its sound cue mostly, rather than screen shake.
It' mechanic is similar to A-200's old mechanic, appearing 50 doors away from the main door. The curious thing about A-185 is that it originally would check both blue lockers AND tables, meaning that it would be impossible to hide under a table as well, but fortunately, this mechanic has been replaced with just A-185 checking blue lockers only. A-185 is one of those entities where their image has been changed at least once. You can see both the old and new images on this page. A-185 is friends with Glee as well.
When A-185 spawns, a player will be chosen at random. This player’s screen will slightly tint cyan, and some text will appear onscreen, approximately a slight bit up from the inventory, stating: "You have the urge to eat your own kind...". Only 5 seconds after this, A-185 will appear on this chosen player's screen, letting them know that they are under A-185 rules now. After this apparition goes away, the classic Nom song, that A-185 uses for it origin ambience, will begin emitting from that player. The cannibal player will have to locate another player and eat them alive for A-185 to spare the cannibal's life. If successful, the player will begin tearing the player open as the caught player struggles. The song will begin to rapidly speed up as the cannibal eats the player until a loud explosion plays, no longer tinting the player’s screen and ending the song, however killing the caught player and tearing their head off. A-185 will give the player until the end of the song to eat another player. If not, The desired cannibal imposed on the player by A-185 will cause the cannibal to not be able to take it anymore, and tear itself apart for A-185 entertainment, meaning at least one person will be killed upon A-185 arrival if this mechanic is the one in use. (However, on the 12th of November, its mechanic got fixed and now if you are a cannibal you can eat medicine to remove the effect, and that makes the new mechanic more fair)
Alongside this, if you are NOT that cannibal player, you will also have text, however your screen will not tint and A-185 will not be on your screen. The text will state: "One of your friends look wrong..." and the other players will hear the Nom song emitting from the cannibal. It is the player’s goal to get as far away from the cannibal as they can to ensure they won't be eaten alive.
Appearance
A-185's design is very similar to the entity A-183 from another popular Rooms Fan-game, Interminable Rooms by zvardinRB. It is likely that A-185 was inspired by A-183, considering that they appear at around the same place in both games. The few differences that A-185 has apart from A-183 though, are that it's eyeholes are shaped differently and leak out a black liquid, it has a more expressed smile, it is less pixelated, and it emits a blue light instead of orange, unlike A-183. A-185 can also completely move its mouth in its animation, with at least 5 frames of his mouth being moved. However, the design is still similar, and it's possible to make this entity with A-183's image. One difference between them though is that A-183 and A-185 are from different games with completely different creators. Also, there is a family member of A-183 that looks very similar to A-185, being C-294. The latter will be in the gallery.
Strategy and Tips
- To survive A-185, you must not hide in blue lockers, as A-185 checks blue lockers. It is recommended to hide in gray lockers or tables or else you will die.
- Upon opening a door, you must listen carefully for A-185's sounds, as A-185 is REALLY quiet and can be hard to hear.
- Its sound can easily be blocked off by other sounds such as the ambience emitting from Happyman.
- If you hear some weird type of sound approaching after opening a door, hide immediately.
- You can also avoid A-185 by going back into a previous room and hiding in there, instead of hiding in the current room.
- In the newest update, A-185 just falls outside the map if it doesn't find any blue lockers, to avoid softlocking.
- When far away, its sound could be confused with A-45, and the same when facing against A-45. To counter this, listen very carefully. If you hear a pattern of a nom nom sound, it is A-185. If its just a distorted scream, it is A-45. If both spawn at the same time, you will only be able to hear A-45 due to A-185's quietness. To counter this, don't hide in blue lockers when you hear A-45 coming if you are beyond room A-185.
- This entity might be the hardest entity in the game if you don't know A-185 mechanic, and might get you killed in later rooms. Therefore, it's important to know it.
Notes
- A-185 originally would get stuck inside of a room due to an unknown bug. (fixed)
- A-185 will drop a radio box when despawning if A-185 successfully finds blue lockers. The radio box will play the Nom song.
- A-185 can possess you (if you didn't already look at the behavior section) meaning if you get possessed, You will need to walk/run into another player to eat them. If you don't do it before the song ends, Your head will explode and remove the possession. But remember, this only works if you have 2 or more players in the server. and also remember, the possession effect can be removed instantly without anyone dying if you just take some medicine.
- What did they do to my boy? He has a fat mouth, the old design it was 8 bit and not fat mouth

- A-185's old ambience seems to be a slower version of the new ambience.
- A-185's audio is the "Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom" song by Parry Gripp, and is also where the "Nom Nom Nom" Roblox audio originated from.

- A-185's old jumpscare was formerly a sped up version of its ambience.
- Now you can escape A-185's possession by taking medicine, with the subtitle "I'm... back?"

- A-185 is widely considered to be the hardest entity in the A Section due to its low volume when far away, speed, and possession effect that will cause at least 1 player to die.
- Due to new lore being added, G-177 will not (and will never) have an A-185 mimic, as the two have never met eachother.
- Because if they met, they would probably hate each other. (this is because A-185 replaced A-140/Old G-177)
- A-185 placing down a radio might be a reference to SCP-185[1].
- A-185 had many bugs throughout its time like when it would get stuck in the middle of a room and when it would spawn in the lobby.
- A-185 loves cannibalism.
